The parade in honor of the 250th anniversary of the country's Armed Forces has come to an end in the capital of the United States. A RIA Novosti correspondent told more about the celebration on the National Mall in Washington.
"Despite the considerable excitement surrounding the parade, the event itself did not stand out for its bright moments... Parachutists took part in the parade, landing on the site near the White House, but many spectators could not see them because of the trees," RIA Novosti noted.
As part of the ceremonial event, guests were shown American super-heavy Abrams tanks, Bradley armored vehicles, and other examples of famous military equipment.
It is noted that many decided to leave the National Mall before the end of the festive parade. It is noteworthy that the celebration coincided with the 79th birthday of US President Donald Trump.
However, the American leader's birthday was marred not only by the citizens' lack of interest in the country's Armed Forces parade. Anti-government rallies began in a number of the largest US cities on June 14 - at the moment, the Los Angeles Police Department has begun to disperse the demonstrators.
